    Resumen:
This thesis investigates the existence of tax competition and interactions between tax policies among OECD countries using a spatial dynamic panel data model and considering both contemporaneous and time-delayed tax interactions. Moreover, the existence of interdependence between governments due to geographic closeness is tested and also due to the proximity in terms of public investment levels. Separately, this thesis covers the theoretical analysis on the role of infrastructure coordination in facilitating partial tax harmonization within a coalition of asymmetric jurisdictions. Finally, the optimal fiscal strategy among fiscal centralization, fiscal decentralization, and partial tax harmonization is considered in a model which allows for both horizontal and vertical tax competition.
