    Resumen:
Quality of life and social functioning have become good indicators for measuring the clinical improvement of psychotic disorders, and have been widely studied in people with schizophrenia. This worst functioning is often present before the onset of the first episode of psychosis (FEP), in the well-known prodromal phase, a phase characteristic of subjects known as At-Risk Mental States (ARMS). Stress has become a key element in both the development of the disease and its direct effect on the evolution of the quality of life and social functioning of people with psychotic illness. This thesis explores the relationship between quality of life and the social functioning of young people with an early psychosis, and also studies the mediating stress role. On the other hand, child abuse is analyzed as a major stressful event, and its relationship with social adaptation in this population group. The results obtained suggest that young young with an early psychosis have a poor quality of life, worse social functioning, and more stress than a sample of healthy controls, and that the year after the first episode, they improve quality of life, but not social functioning. Stress plays a mediating role effect in the relationship between quality of life and social adjustment, and child abuse is also associated with worse social adjustment.
