Resumen:
The Spanish socialism during the seventies, in parallel the Transition to the democracy, suffered an own transition, from a deep dispersion to a forced concentration. This doctoral thesis tries to study the similarities, differences and connections between three of the most important Socialist parties in Spain: the PSOE, the PSOE(H) and the PSP. A relate with built-in analysis about the path of these three parties will be offered in order to understand their own evolution and particularities as well as to achieve conclusions through the comparative method. In addition, we will deal with the main factors that caused that reorganization inside the socialist movement, as well as those which aroused PSOE’s pre-eminence and their arrival to the Spanish government in 1982; between them, we underline the role of the Socialist International and the media. Moreover, we took into account the importance of the internal functioning of the parties, the heterogeneity and internal rivalries inside the organizations and the concept of Spanish socialism
