    Resumen:
OBJECTIVE: To establish whether the implementation of training interventions on the etiological distinction of different dependence-related skin lesions and their prevention on the epidemiological indicators of the forementioned lesions. METHOD: The study was organized in five different phases and carried out in 4 hospitalization units of the Tortosa verge de la Cinta Hospital. 1st phase: Observation of the lesions reported in the hospitalization units. 2nd phase: descriptive, retrospective study of a prevalence series (2014 to 2017), of studied lesions. 3-4th phases: quasiexperimental, longitudinal, single-group intervention study, with «pre-test» «post-test» and 15-month measurements, through the implementation of an educational program aimed at nursing professionals. 5th phase: quasi-experimental, prevalence and incidence study, with pre-post measurements, and non-equivalent control group. RESULTADOS: 1st phase: 38,8% of the lesions were recorded, with a discrepancy of 83% between the etiology of the record and the reassessment manifested by the wound experts. 2nd phase: 2014 to 2017 average prevalence of pressure ulcer and moisture associated lesions was 3,74%. Nosocomial lesions showed a significant decrease (p = 0,013), going from 69,1% in 2014, to 56,4% in 2017. 3-4th phase: After the intervention, a statistically significant increase was evidenced in the «post-test» in both the theoretical knowledge dimension (30%) and practical skills (80%). By 15 months, the increase on correct answers in comparison to the «pre-test» was 60% and 83,3%
