    Abstract:
Stroke causes motor and cognitive impairments that affect autonomy, making intensive rehabilitation crucial. This study compared conventional therapy with a combined treatment that included home-based virtual reality using RGSapp over a six-week period. Thirty-four patients participated in a randomized clinical trial. Both groups showed improvement with no statistically significant differences between them; however, the virtual reality group demonstrated superior upper-limb functional recovery, reduced depressive symptoms, and better performance on visuospatial tasks, alongside high treatment adherence. The study concludes that home-based virtual reality is a safe and useful tool to complement conventional rehabilitation.
