    Identifier:  TFG:10030
    Authors:  Rovira Pallàs, David
    Abstract:
This systematic review examined whether egg consumption affects cholesterol levels and lipid profiles in adults. By analyzing randomized controlled trials published between 2020 and 2026, the review assessed the impact of eggs on key cardiovascular risk markers, including LDL cholesterol, total cholesterol, HDL cholesterol, and triglycerides. Nine eligible studies were included. Overall, the evidence did not show a consistent negative effect of egg consumption on LDL cholesterol or other lipid markers. However, results varied across studies, suggesting that the effects of eggs may depend on overall dietary patterns and the foods they replace in the diet.
