    Abstract:
This work presents the development and evaluation of a novel methodology to control the analytical response of semi-open potentiometric electrochemical sensors, through modulation of open-circuit potential (OCP) time. The proposed method, based on electronically controlled short-circuits (MCC), allows investigation of how charge accumulation varies with time and analyte concentration (H₂O₂). Results show that at low concentrations, longer accumulation times are needed to obtain significant responses, while at high concentrations, the sensor response stabilizes more quickly. An OCP time of 150 seconds was optimized as suitable across the working range. Although the MCC method demonstrated lower sensitivity than the standard method, its ability to modulate the sensor response makes it a promising alternative due to the ability to adapt the sensor's response to a wide range of concentrations, increasing its functional versatility. Furthermore, it provides greater operational robustness, baseline standardization, and promotes faster system stabilization.
