    Abstract:
Brucellosis is a zoonotic disease distributed worldwide in both animals and humans. In sheep, infection is primarily caused by the species B. melitensis and B. ovis, leading to significant economic losses, with B. melitensis being the most common species in human brucellosis. There are no existing studies on Brucella infection in the ovine trophoblast cell line. However, considering host and target cell preference, this study proposed that an ovine trophoblast-based model could have greater predictive value than other cell lines for studying placental pathogenesis caused by Brucella in sheep.
