    Abstract:
This study evaluates the impact of immersive virtual reality (IVR) on the cognitive performance and emotional well-being of 35 older adults with dementia. Using a mixed-methods design with experimental and control groups, tests were administered before and after the intervention. The results show that the experimental group experienced increased anxiety (with no difference compared to the control group) and improved acceptance of the therapy. Processing speed and selective attention remained stable, while the control group outperformed the experimental group in working memory. It is concluded that IVR is an effective complementary therapy that maintains executive functions.
