    Abstract:
This undergraduate thesis analyzes financial reporting fraud from the perspective of accounting and forensic auditing. To this end, various techniques and financial indicators are examined through their application to two publicly traded Spanish companies: DIA, focusing on accounting manipulation via the overstatement of trade discounts; and Grifols, involving financial statements that misleadingly presented the company's debt levels. The results demonstrate that no single indicator is capable of detecting all types of fraud. Consequently, an early-warning matrix comprising 12 indicators is proposed to identify early signs of financial fraud.
