    Abstract:
Myofascial pain syndrome (MPS) is associated with trigger points and muscle pain, and a lack of sleep may play a role. This study evaluated the effect of partial sleep reduction on the spontaneous release of acetylcholine in 32 female Swiss mice. The experimental group experienced a 25% reduction in sleep over six weeks, achieved through environmental enrichment. The results showed a reversible increase in the frequency of miniature end-plate potentials (mEPPs), with no changes observed in anxiety levels or other electrophysiological parameters. Partial sleep deprivation could contribute to the formation or maintenance of myofascial trigger points
