    Abstract:
    Correlation between resistance to compression and variable production control to a cement industry DRX Rietveld methodology had represented a new approach for the quality control of cements in control process cement production. Now, not only classical control techniques, like residue on 32 micron sieve, sulphate content, etc., but new ones Rietveld-determined, like C3S, C2S, etc., can be applied to estimate mechanical strength of cements almost online. In this paper we will discuss the basic principles procedures that are performed in control process in cement producer Spanish plants but also how these determined parameters are related to final mechanical strengths performance of cements produced. Our main goal was to be able to predict 2, 7 and 28 days resistance test results without needing to wait this time for the final tests results according to UNE-EN-ISO 196-1. To achieve this goal, all test results available for cements type CEM I 42,5 R and CEM I 52,5 R, more than 150 since 2014 to 2016, were used to perform an statistical analysis to determinate which of them were statistically significant for this purpose. After further refining of estimators with technical experts from CEMEX, we proposed some equations to predict the 2, 7 and 28 days resistance based only in test results provided by control process plant laboratory.
