Vaccine against human papillomavirus: efficacy and safety.

    Abstract:
    Human papillomavirus (HPV) related disease remains a major cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide. Prophylactic vaccines have been recognized as the most effective intervention to control for HPV-related diseases. Nevertheless it seems that there are controversies regarding the efficacy and safety profile of marketed vaccines. This article presents an overview of the situation of this issue and suggests some improvement ideas from the results seen.
