    Abstract:
The intention of this paper is to address the migratory issue from the point of view of political and economic sciences. More particularly, it is intended to find out if the political ideology of the country of destination is an attraction factor, when it comes to making the decision to emigrate to a certain place and if it affects the amount of it. A sample of thirteen OECD countries has been taken for a period from 1994 to 2014. This paper consists of two parts, an historical analysis of the policies that have been carried out on immigration issues and an analysis with a dynamic data panel with instrumental variables. After analyzing it, we have been able to separate the parties into two groups, those that have a monocultural tendency, as they have a negative view of immigration and those that have a multicultural trend, with a positive view of immigration. In general, it is observed that there is a relationship between political ideology and immigration, but that there is no evidence that the change in a political party's year is an attractive factor in migrating. The variation in the amount of immigration is not related to the variation of ideology (change from left to right or from right to left).
