    Abstract:
The document of the operation of the gender doublet of Ignacio Roca (2009) called «All Basque are Basques and many Basques also Basque» and the subsequent statements by Ignacio Bosque (2012) in «Linguistic sexism and visibility of women» on the incorrectness of the doublet, established the germ of a debate not only influenced linguists and placed in specialized philology magazines but also established in the press, in politics and in the Spanish culture. This paper deals with the different positions that formed around the grammatical gender element and linguistic sexism. The approach of some extremist thesis is polarized in the academic position of rejection of the doublet, because the generic male inclusive both sexes, and the opposite side that supports the creation and use of this resource, because it is made visible to the Women in the language and combat the sexism that can occur in the performance or competence of the speaker. Therefore, the main objectives are summarized in see who provide support or rejection of a discursive element as the doublet having a specific functionality to combat linguistic sexism; analyze the gender as doublet to determine if it is correct or necessary; and if it can be applied to natural or artificial language. In addition, we will try to establish whether the language can exclude women of linguistic representation and, therefore, if the language change with the creation of feminine words helps to change the mentality of the speaker. And finally, give my opinion on the matter taking into account all issues discussed above.
