The perception of chemical risk in La Pobla de Mafumet. A study based on the georeferencing of spatial data

Abstract:
From the seventies the petrochemical industry, with its implantation in the territory, is one of the elements that most concerns the inhabitants of La Pobla de Mafumet. From a study based on the georeferencing of spatial data from applying a methodology based on the survey among the residents of the village, we will see what is the degree of perception of the chemical risk of this municipality, which areas of the urban nucleus have a perception of major and minor risk and which are the elements that most disturb the neighbors. By making use of a Geographic Information System (GIS), the results are captured graphically and cartographically, and finally, there are also a series of proposals to try to reduce this perception and improve the information of the industrial complex towards the population.
