Abstract:
The objective of this work is to know the different benefits offered by music therapy during maternity and paternity processes. Nowadays, society constantly demands the humanization of care during pregnancy, childbirth and puerperium, due to the excessive medicalization during the last few decades. A descriptive and analytical study was done by means of a bibliographic review, carried out between September 2017 and December 2017. The databases used were PubMed, Cuiden, The Scientific Electronic Library Online (Scielo) and Dialnet. 25 articles were selected, applying the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The analysis of the results has been divided into six categories: the year of publication, type of study, author profession, type of population, type of process studied and objective. Finally, the role of nursing is highlighted, particularly the training of midwives, for the promotion and application of music therapy during the progress of maternity/paternity.
