Abstract:
Introduction: The Palliative care has been evolving during the last time, reason why nowadays the sanitary professionals recognize the need to treat the patient as a biopsychosocial being, playing a very importante ole the nursing porfessional. Objective: To carry out a bibliographic review to know the current situation on the emotional management of nursing in palliative care. Methods: A bibliographic search was carried out in the databases Scielo, Pubmed, Google Académico and I Cercador Plus of articles published between 2010 and 2018 in full text and online availability in the Spanish and English languages. Results: 18936 articles were found, of which once the inclusion and exclusion criteria were applied, 18 were selected for the realization of the work. The results that stand out are the importance of alleviating the discomfort of the patient through comprehensive attention and spiritual attention to find meaning in life. Satisfaction of family members with professionals due to social and emotional support, as well as the information received and the preference of the shared role in decision making. Finally, professionals express negative feelings due to the taboo subject of death, but an adequate preparation allows us to correctly address this situation, as well as interpersonal communication of quality and reduction of patient anxiety. Conclusions: Nursing must be present at all stages of the evolution of the terminal patient's disease, have an attention to the needs of all cells and then make a re-evaluation to correct errors. In addition, it is important to integrate the values proportional to the appropriate information through communication skills to favor the link and to reduce anxiety and obtain a follow-up of the appropriate disease.
