Stress in parents of hospitalized children

Abstract:
This essay has as a main objective to identify the different and various factors that cause stress existing in parents due to the hospitalization of a child. Pretending to, moreover, make known the multiple interventions applied from the nursery ambit to reduce this existing stress and anxiety. This analysis has the added purpose to ease the knowledge about the scientific publications related with this theme. Making a bibliographic research for the published articles between October 2004 and June 2017; in the database of Cinahl, Dialnet, Pubmed and Scielo. Selecting thus 25 articles which are related to the theme and meet the requirements and inclusion criteria. The analysis of the result has been categorized in seven factions: depending the type of sample, study focus, kind of study realized, year of publication, career of the author, conclusions about the most interesting factor and most relevant intervention and useful applicable for stress reduction. The uncertainty and disturbance of the parent’s rol, are the main cause of stress, and that is why the nursery’s interventions are of vital importance to strengthen the links of the family, as well as provide information and give support, through a therapeutic and efficient communication.
