    Abstract:
Introduction: Pain and dysfunction of the temporomandibular (DTM) joint is very frequent in our society, affecting about 17-26% of the population. The most sensitive population to DTM is mainly adolescents, children and women of childbearing age. Aims: To reaffirm the relationship between DTM and headaches, as well as to analyze the different current therapeutic approaches from the perspective of physiotherapy. Metodology: We performed a systematic review following the criteria of the PRISMA statement. The databases used for the search were Pubmed, PEDro and Cochrane Library. The search time ranged from 2012 to 2017. The searches were limited according to the inclusion criteria. Results: In the initial search, a total of 131 articles were found, of which 27 were included in this review. Of this total, 8 articles apply physiotherapy treatment in their intervention, 8 do not apply physiotherapeutic treatment during the intervention, and 11 do not perform any type of treatment.
