Abstract:
Objective: analyse the experience about a person with acquired brain damage after the rupture of a cerebral aneurysm. Method: qualitative study based in phenomenology. Four semi-structured interviews had been held to people who had suffered the rupture of a cerebral aneurysm and after, they have had sequels. The interview consists of 24 open answer questions. Thematic analysis data based on the Benner, Giorgi and Van Manen model. Results: the analysed results have been classified by the health-related quality of life (HRQL) items: physical, psychological, functional and social impact. Moreover, two more items have been added: therapy institutions after the disease and information before the disease. Conclusions: The rupture of a cerebral aneurysm suppose a big impact in all the diary life aspects of the people who suffered it. Although the disease worldwide high rate, there isn’t enough information in the population of it. Nursing it has an essential role in the prevention and in the cares after the pathology to offer a better life quality.
