    Abstract:
Sleeping it is a fundamental factor in order to have a good life quality; Meanwhile we sleep our body recovers physically and also psychologically. If we are talking about athletes, the sleep quality and quantity they get has an important role in their physical performance, in their mood and motivation and also in preventing injuries. With this study we have evaluated the connection between the sleep quality and the ligament and muscle-tendon injuries (such as fibril breaks, overloads, muscle cramps, tendinopathies and strains) on athletes aged between 12 and 25 years old that practice basketball and football. To execute this study, we have evaluated the sleep quality with Pittsburgh sleep quality index during the months of December, January and February, with a sample of 144 assistants. The criteria assessed were: total amount of sleep hours, objective and quantitative assessment (Pittsburgh test), subjective perception of sleep quality and injuries (number and types) during the evaluated period. The results were analyzed according the age, sex and category (infant- cadet- junior and youth- amateur).
