    Abstract:
The thesis entitled Kawaii: Japan and Barcelona Connected Through the Creation of a Festival has the objective to create an event located in Barcelona about Japanese culture. With the support of specialised books, I can develop each stage required in the creation of the festival. For example: choosing a location, determining the demographics, search of suppliers, festival’s communication and elaboration of the budget. The elaboration of every phase produces an event in which Japanese culture is promoted. The thesis also presents a contextualization about event tourism and its characteristics just as the situation of Barcelona and the reasons why it is the best place to celebrate the festival. Finally, I will considered if an event with these main characteristics could be successful taking place in the city of Barcelona despite the sector’s competitors.
