Abstract:
Introduction: The advance of technologies and scientific evidence in the field of health leads to an increase in population aging, which will increase the prevalence of diseases of advanced age such as neurodegenerative diseases. Therefore, it is necessary to focus and promote healthy lifestyles aimed at brain health as a method of preventing these diseases. Objectives: Identifying neuro healthy habits related to brain health in general population. Study health promotion and prevention activities directed by nursing, as well as other therapies to improve brain health. Methodology: Systematic review of the scientific literature by searching the Pubmed, Scopus and Cuiden databases. The selection criteria were original and full access studies related to neuro healthy habits or brain health in the general population, published in Spanish and English between 2014 and 2019, both included. Studies of systematic reviews and / or meta-analyses, editorial articles, clinical cases, and doctoral thesis are not included. The quality criterion applied was the level of evidence of CEBM. Results: A total of 10 articles were chosen according to the inclusion criteria previously established. Classifying them in two parts: neuro healthy habits (n=6); nursing and prevention (n=4). Conclusions: It is feasible to reduce the onset or delay of neurodegenerative diseases by maintaining brain health through neuro healthy habits.
