    Abstract:
Introduction: The perinatal loss is a very painful event for parents, and it can also be painful for the professionals involved. It has been demonstrated that the care that health professionals offer at this moment can affect positively or negatively during the mourning process experienced by parents. The evolution of perinatal death care has changed considerably over the past few years, the work of nursing professionals has been modified and directed towards a more humanized care in accompanying the loss. Objectives: The objective of this investigation is to get to know the experience of nursing professionals on the evolution of care in perinatal loss in Camp de Tarragona in the last ten years and also the reasons that helped or limited this evolution. Methodology: This is a qualitative study whose results are based on semi-structured interviews realized to four nurses that work in different hospitals located in Camp de Tarragona. The results obtained were analyzed following the Taylor-Bogdan sequence. Results: The results of the analysis show that there is an evolution of these care without being able to determine an exact point of inflexion of the change. Previously the care was carried out from a paternalistic attitude without taking into account the particularity of the situation or the parents opinion. Currently, care is directed to holistic care from the accompaniment and involvement, prioritizing the feelings and emotions of parents, although some limitations are identified as the need for specific training, lack of support for professionals, overload of work and the lack of a specific protocol. Conclusion: The change has not occurred in the same way in all hospitals of the Camp de Tarragona, but nurses agree that their care is based fundamentally on the ethics of caring to attend a process of perinatal death, whether or not there is a specific protocol in the unity. Nevertheless, we believe it is necessary to unify nursing care in the perinatal death in the different hospitals of the area in order to help the families.
