Abstract:
The health care professionals are involved throughout all the patient’s life statege. It is were often to assist the patient to the end of their lifes. The knowledge of the death depends of the environment where you were raised of and your own experience. Nurses are not only dealing with the patient’s feelings and emotions but with their patient’s families too. Nurses empathize with the pain and agony of their patients, this affect the professional by to live in their day to day with the suffering and death of another human being. The aim of this assignment is to analyse and understand the experience of the nurse which the have to deal with terminal patient on their daily bases. A quality descriptive study of phenomenological type was carried on in two different clinics centres; Sant Joan hospitality, socio-health units and Pere Mata Clinic Institute. There was a semi-structured interview with open questions. Four issues were determinate; lack of academic training for graduates students, psych-emotional related to the emotional management, the importance of symptom control in order to active patient comfort, how the professionals that we interviews feel when providing their care to the terminal patient, among other. There are many factors that can influence when trying to offer the suitable treatment, it is important that these don’t limit our capacity to look for the best one. For this reason, is important that new emotional training programs are created and implemented, to develop the cognitive emotional skills and required techniques to offer quality treatments.
