Present population and future scenarios in Valls (2001-2024)

Abstract:
The work elaborates a demographic study of the municipality of Valls, both of the current population and especially of its migratory dynamics and its future trend. For this, after the theoretical framework and the territorial context, the demographic structure is studied, with special emphasis on the structure by place of birth. It follows a section on natural movement of the population in recent decades. The study of migration dynamics occupies chapter 5, includes not only the figures of the components of the migration balance but also a territorial analysis of immigration in Valls, with location and segregation indices. Chapter 6 elaborates, based on the demographic and socioeconomic data of the municipality, three future scenarios in relation to demographic behavior, not only for Valls but also for Alt Camp, scenarios that are the basis of the final conclusions of the study.
