    Abstract:
IQOXE Polymeric Emulsions produces emulsions on a watery basis. These emulsions contain variable amounts of Formaldehyde, either formed by reaction by-products or impurities in the raw material. The purpose of IQOXE is to implement a method to determine and quantify this compound in the emulsions. To do this, a HPLC device coupled to a diode array detector (DAD) has been used. Formaldehyde is a non-active compound in the UV / VIS spectrum, so it has been necessary to derivative it into a compound that it’s detectable. The procedure consisted in the calibration and validation of the method in terms of LOD, LOQ, selectivity and accuracy, as well as determining the linearity interval of the method. To do this, an optimization process has been necessary in the preparation of the standards and samples. Finally, the method for its purpose in different batches of plant products has been implemented.
