Abstract:
Education for health in childhood and adolescence is very important as it is the best time to teach, educate and create healthy habits. Schools are the best means of accessing this population and all the people that surround them The main objectives of this paper are to analyze the importance of education and programs for health in schools and the importance and need to integrate the nurse in the school setting. In order to achieve the objectives, a systematic bibliographic review has been carried out. There has been an analysis of different databases and scientific journals, as well as the consultation of the Madrid School Nursing Association (AMECE).After doing a careful search, 17 articles were selected to carry out the work.Through the analysis of various articles, the objectives of the work on the need of the school nurse, the requirements, the abilities, the resources, the benefits, the health problems that predominate most in the school, the Functions and activities they carry out to encourage, educate and develop tools that make healthy behaviors. In conclusion, the school nurse is a figure thatmust be integrated because it is the professional who has the knowledge to perform all the functions that are typical of the nurse. In addition, it must respond to all health problems and conduct health education throughout the educational community: students, teachers, and the family. Therefore, it is understood that education for health is an important job that school nurses must develop and a fact that makes their presence in the educational centers essential.
