    Abstract:
Along our life we find a lot of situations where we have to make decisions, each decision has a different importance and it will affect with more or less significance, but all of them are necessary to continue. In a company we have a similar situation; all companies constantly find themselves with the necessity of making decisions about any aspect, more or less important, but always necessary. We have found many aspects about a society that needs to make decisions, but in one of these one of the possible options are usually not taken into account. This situation is when the companies have to decide where to invest the surplus resources. When a company is presented with this situation, it’s common make a very detailed analysis to observe all the options that we are proposed, but the problem is that most of the times these options are related with changes or upgrades in the productive process. But, is this the best option? Can we invest in something not related with the productive process? Can the profitability get better if we invest in another area? We analyzed and finally put on the table the option of investing this surplus in an investment portfolio with fixed and variable income, we will create our own investment, simulating that this was a possibility to a society. With this we can observe the profitability and if it’s possible that sometimes the best option isn’t investing in production.
