    Abstract:
This Final Degree Project is divided into three parts to answer the research question: Is the effect of Harry Potter on tourism still present 23 years after its first publication? The project starts with an introduction to film tourism, a term that was invented the 1992. Film tourism is a type of cultural tourism that arises from an interest in traveling to a destination after seeing it in a movie, series, ads ... The most positive part is that each film has its own market, there is no specific tourist profile. The next section is "The Harry Potter Phenomenon": a saga of seven books (1997-2007) and eight films (2001-2011), because the last book was divided in two films. With approximately 500 million books sold, grossing $7.7 billion worldwide, it is considered the best-selling book saga in history. The films are the third best-rated franchise by critics and grossed $9.19 billion. There are the analysis of various locations where Harry Potter has been recorded. Divided into six zones (London, United Kingdom South West, United Kingdom East, North England and Yorkshire, Scotland and Ireland) it can be seen how Harry Potter has had a greater or lesser impact in various locations. For example, visits to Alnwick Castle increased by 120% in 2001, after the release of the first film. The impact was minor at Durham Cathedral or Hardwick Hall. In the village of Lavenham, there is a house, the birthplace of Harry Potter in fiction, which thanks to the saga, is the second most photographed house in the United Kingdom, after 10 Downing Street. The analysis continues in the third section: the Potter effect in the present, with official products (Universal Studio parks, plays, concerts and exhibitions) and unofficial products (tours, fairs, events...).
