Abstract:
Introduction: Nowadays, cardiorespiratory arrest(CPR) is an issue of great importance. The increased maternal age and the comorbidities have raised the possibilities of suffering a cardiac arrest during pregnancy, and due to the fact that is one of the most series situations for a person, nursing has a very important role which implies the acquisition of knowledge to know how to act against this background, unlikely, but life threatening for the mother and the fetus. Objectives: To do a bibliographic research about the cardiorespiratory arrest in the pregnancy, which encompass the maternal factors that can cause the cardiac arrest; which skills may influence the effectivity of the CPR and which training methods are used in nursing about the CPR in the pregnancy. Methodology: Literature review of the data bases PubMed, Cinahl, I Cercador de la Universdidad Rovira y Virigili, Scopus y Cochrane, being the inclusion criteria used: articles published between the years 2010 and 2020, both written in English and Spanish, open access resources and related to the proposed objectives. In order to evaluate the level of the scientific evidence of the articles, the analysis proposal of the Scottish Intercollegiate Guidelines Network (SIGN) has been usedResults: A total of fourteen quantitative articles have been included. Firstly, the analysed studies show that hypertension and the cardiac diseases have proved to be the most frequent maternal factors in women who suffered a cardiac arrest. On the other hand, the AHA ́s proposal to perform the resuscitation on the pregnant woman has resulted to be effective, but in order to know how to act against this background the nursing training is of vital importance and the most useful method for this matter has been the simulation.
