    Abstract:
Tarragona, June 22, 2018. The XVIII Mediterranean Games are inaugurated at the Gimnastic’s Nou Estadi. During the 10 days of the event, thousands of athletes from 26 Mediterranean countries meet, participating in the 33 sports and disciplines in competition. But how have they been organized? Have the initial forecasts been met? What were the intentions and which of these ones have been fulfilled? Mediterranis is a documentary that explains the framework of the most important sporting event that Tarragona has hosted so far. It offers the opportunity to the parties involved in the preparation of the Mediterranean Games to make an assessment, just now after two years. The Tarragona edition is one of the most important international competitions of the last decades in the city, and it has been surrounded by controversy since long before its celebration, lasting until today. That is why the documentary wants to enter and reel off this controversy and the reasons that led it. Criticism, self-criticism, mistakes, victories and bronze, silver and gold medals. The face and the cross of the event, in audio-visual format, which seeks to solve the pending questions that have not been answered. The Mediterranean Games disappeared from the mental map of Tarragona at the end of the event, but they left many open questions. Away from any political and/or economic influence, Mediterranis offers the realities that surrounded the organization of the Games, which have proven to be many and diverse. That is why we ask: Was the city prepared to host a competition of such dimensions as the ones of the Mediterranean Games?
