    Abstract:
In this article we will find how people with mental health have been taken care of, what is the way of taking care and how it could be interceded from the discipline of Social Work with involuntary commitment since as social workers, we must work taking into account the values and desires of our patients and try to ensure that they have a decent treatment keeping in mind their will. After many years of treatment with mental health people, new care measures, new rights and new strategies have been adopted. However, there are still some questions that need to be answered. Are we doing everything possible so that the care of people with mental health is the most appropriate? How can you know if the person will accept the treatment without affecting their decision-making ability? Are they acting accordingly to the interests of people? Therefore, this article reflects from history to present how is the assistance for the mental health patient, the concept of advance wills and its documents, a project that is carried out in Andalusia and how it could be applied in Catalonia, and to cover the job of Social Work in formalizing these documents.
