    Abstract:
    SUMMARY The objective of this study was to explore and assess the experiences and perceptions of older persons in Tarragona about old age, from the subjectivity and personal perspective. It's a research with qualitative approach of phenomenological design. The study sample was composed of 7 people aged between 65 and 93 years old. The technique for the collection of data was the semi-structured interview and the targeted. The most notable results were the wide variety in the definition of old age, as well as the acceptance as a strategy priority in addressing the changes resulting from the passage of the years. In addition to the importance of preparing for the arrival of this phase. So, in conclusion, highlights the existence of healthy aging and the role of professional nursing in promoting this style of aging, through different programs of health promotion and disease prevention.
