Abstract:
Objectives: Delineate conceptually euthanasia, classes, and Physician Assisted Suicide (PAS), analyze the different philosophical, legal and bioethical arguments for and against such practice Methodology: We proceeded to the study and revision of literature and articles, doctrinal and scientists who deal with this issue, either through rights that have been in conflict and population studies in the countries where euthanasia and / or PAS are legalized. Abstract: The technological development that has taken the medicine not only offers advantages, but involves a series of questions and overrides, both individual and collective, social, philosophical and legal field. For the current possibility of extending life despite the agony and suffering of the patient, comes hard on the euthanasia and PAS discussion, both being also an ethical issue, a matter of respect for freedom and human dignity and in any case, involved a collision between the legally life. This debate had its birth in the different conceptualization that is given to both terms. The terminological conflict the principal legal debates, focused on their penalty in the free legal discussion focus on the right to life, the right of a dignified death, in patient autonomy and the need for legalization euthanasia and PAS. Finally, we discuss the needed of training in palliative care and the take strong policies to ensure adequate palliative medicine. Conclusions: focus the debate on patient autonomy, Empower training in bioethics in health degree and ensure the existence of ethics committees
