Analysis of mergers and acquisitions of Spanish financial institutions: The relationship with the blue chips

Abstract:
This Final Degree Project analyzes the mergers and acquisitions of large financial institutions. Subsequently, this analysis will be related to the blue chips, the companies with the most stability in the Ibex-35. Firstly, all the mergers executed by Spanish financial entities from 2008 to 2022 have been entered. Subsequently, to determine the impact of blue chips on mergers, the behavior of the shares of Banco Santander, BBVA, CaixaBank and Banco Sabadell has been analysed. The period studied was two months, taking as reference the dates of the mergers of each entity.
