Parsing of locative predicates with the Spanish copulas "ser" and "estar" when used with objects and events: an experiment using self-paced reading

Abstract:
This is a self-paced reading experiment in the Department of Psycholinguistics. They presented themselves 160 sentences (40 experimental, 120 distractors, of which which 80 led to a comprehension question). 20 of the experimental sentences contained errors syntactic (use of the copula "ser" in sentences with objects and "estar" in phrases with events). Result: processing time increased by significantly in sentences with these inconsistencies.
