Effect of a high fat diet in the expression of Alzheimer´s disease and type 2 diabetes mellitus related miRNAs in APPswe/PS1dE9 mice cortex tissue.

    Abstract:
    Although Alzheimer's disease (AD) and type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) may appear to be two completely independent conditions, previous studies have demonstrated the significant involvement of insulin resistance in the pathological processes associated with the onset of AD, suggesting that AD can be considered a metabolic disease. This study aims to analyze the effects of genotype and a high-fat diet on the expression of miRNAs related to AD and T2DM in the cortex of APPswe/PS1dE9 mice (an Alzheimer's mice model) and wild-type mice. Two analyses were conducted: a comparison based on diet and a comparison based on genotype.
