The importance of didactic materials in the teaching-learning process of mathematics in early childhood education

Abstract:
Children, during basic education, must achieve a total of eight skills. One of these is mathematical competence and, as indicated in Decree 21/2023, teaching materials play an important role in its development. A didactic proposal for boys and girls aged 5 to 6 has been drawn up and the reasons why teachers opt for an active methodology in the classroom and the characteristics and importance of the didactic materials have been analysed.
