Sex, smoking and BMI affect the elevation of circulating triglycerides associated with insulin resistance

  • Identification data

    Identifier:  TFG:6773
    Authors:  Arboledas Juan, Javier
    Abstract:
Insulin resistance triggers the metabolic alterations that originate the atherogenic dyslipidemia that confers the characteristic cardiovascular risk of diabetic patients. It is characterised by elevated plasma concentrations of circulating triglyceride (TG), low high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) and normal or only moderately elevated low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C). The aim of the present study is to study what factors influence the relationship between circulating TG levels and insulin resistance.
