Ionic matrices for Mass Spectrometry Imaging of biological tissues

    Abstract:
    Liquid ionic matrices are a good alternative to conventional matrices used in MALDI-MSI such as HCCA and DHB. They have advantages such as promote analyses ionization or have lower intensity coming from the matrix peaks. In this project we studied their use to detect low weight metabolites in two tissues, pancreas and mouse brain. First, their synthesis(Aniline, DEA and DMA) with the acids was studied . An increase of low molecular weight analytes has been demonstrated. We have also detected a higher number of protonated addicts as well as sodium and potassium.
