    Identifier:  TFG:7008
    Authors:  Albizu Unchalo, Uxue
    Abstract:
This study proposes a more efficient methodology to analyze intestinal permeability. Current methods are evaluated highlighting limitations and the Ap-to-Bas (AtB) system is presented. Prototypes of 3D devices are designed to improve AtB efficiency, considering limitations of each prototype. Aspects of 3D printing are examined, such as printer selection, production costs and times, and materials, focusing on thermoplastics and polymers. Methods to assess intestinal permeability, such as measurement of transepithelial electrical resistance (TEER) and the use of markers, are reviewed. The possibility of patenting the proposed device is being explored.
