Abstract:
This project is aimed to analyze the applicable environmental laws referring to the administrative procedure to be followed by an enterprise since the investigation of a determined area liable to contain hydrocarbons to their effective extraction and distribution. To elaborate the matter the author followed a real case in which an enterprise named Cairn Energy, acting through its Spanish filial, Capricorn Spain Limited, was granted with an hydrocarbon investigation permit at the end of the year 2013, in the area between the Valencian Community coast and that of the island of Ibiza.
