    Abstract:
Pulmonary thromboembolism (PTE) occurs when a blood clot in the lower extremities is displaced into the lungs, obstructing pulmonary arteries. It manifests itself with dyspnea and chest pain, which can be fatal. It is a common and underdiagnosed pathology with high morbidity and mortality, and is the third cause of cardiovascular death. The diagnosis is clinical-radiological, using the PESI scale in emergencies to assess mortality at 30 days and select low-risk patients for outpatient management. This study analyzes patients admitted to TEP and a PESI score of 0 at the Hospital Universitari Sant Joan de Reus during 2021-2022, comparing the duration of admission and mortality.
