Is there any association between the exposure to endocrine-disrupting chemicals and gestational weight gain? A systematic review

    Identifier:  TFG:7923
    Authors:  Bretó López, Àngels
    Abstract:
A systematic review was conducted to assess the association between the exposure to endocrine-disrupting chemicals (EDCs) and gestational weight gain (GWG). After analyzing 21 studies, positive associations were found between certain EDCs, such as per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, phthalates and parabens, and excessive GWG. However, the lack of consensus for several EDCs highlights the need for further research to better understand this relationship.
