    Abstract:
Drought and saline stress are significant environmental issues that severely impact crop growth and plant functions, often leading to oxidative stress. This study aimed to explore how water deficit and osmotic stress affect antioxidant mechanisms related to glutathione in Pisum sativum L. Solutions of polyethylene glycol at 10% and 20% were applied to the plants during early growth stages. We then assessed the glutathione levels, the activity of the enzyme glutathione reductase, and various other parameters indicative of oxidative stress. Our finding revealed the onset of oxidative stress, elevated GR activity, and elevated reduced glutathione concentrations.
