Grape seed proanthocyanidin extract consumption modulated Sucnr1 gene expresion rhythm in cafeteria diet-induced obese rats

    Abstract:
The study investigates how a cafeteria-style diet (CAF) affects the expression of the succinate receptor (SUCNR1) in peripheral tissues such as adipose tissue and the liver of rats, and whether grape seed procyanidin extract (GSPE) can restore altered circadian rhythms. The results show that the CAF diet disrupts the circadian rhythm of SUCNR1 in adipose tissue, but not in the liver. GSPE appears to be capable of restoring these rhythms. These findings suggest that the CAF diet could contribute to metabolic complications, while GSPE might offer a therapeutic intervention.
