    Abstract:
Covid-19, caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus, originated in Wuhan, China, in late 2019 and was declared a pandemic by the WHO in March 2020. In Spain, the health crisis severely affected nursing staff, due to the lack of protection, diagnosis and treatment, in addition to staff shortages due to high contagion. This caused work overload, physical exhaustion and emotional stress. The qualitative study based on interviews at the Comarcal Hospital revealed that the pandemic had negative repercussions on the work, family and emotional lives of nurses, leaving mainly psychological after-effects.
