Abstract:
In this project, a bridge crane has been designed and calculated for an existing industrial warehouse for handling heavy engines. The installed bridge crane has dimensions of 28 meters in length, 10 meters in width, and 7 meters in height, and it can lift up to 20 tons. The design includes a trolley with two lifting mechanisms: a main one that can lift up to 20 tons and an auxiliary one with a capacity of 5 tons. These lifting mechanisms consist of a drive gear motor that turns a drum, specifically designed to lift the mentioned loads. Additionally, various mechanical elements necessary for the safe and efficient operation of the bridge crane have been selected and specified. Among these components are pulleys, bearings, cables, and couplings, which together ensure the operability of the lifting system. Beyond the commercial mechanical components, the project has included the design, calculation, and analysis of the structure of the bridge and the trolley, as well as the selection of their translation components. This process has encompassed from the initial conception to the engineering details necessary to ensure the resistance, stability, and safety of the entire bridge crane. The structural design has involved the evaluation of loads, stresses, and deformations to ensure that all elements comply with current regulations and required technical specifications. This project has not only addressed the selection and adaptation of commercial mechanical components, but it has also involved a rigorous process of structural design and analysis to create an efficient, safe bridge crane that meets the specific needs of the existing industrial warehouse.
